Dismantling and assembling the suspension strut

After removing the suspension strut, compress the spring with a special tool until the upper strut mount is released. Hold the shock absorber piston rod with a 6 mm hex. unscrew the stem nut. Remove the upper strut support and spring.

Assemble the suspension strut in order. reverse disassembly. When releasing the spring with a special tool, make sure that the ends of the spring fit into the sockets.

The upper support of cars produced before and after May 1983 is shown in rice. 4.4. From the shock absorber rod of all car models. except for carburetor «XR3», remove the thrust washer.
