Install the locknuts and tie rod ends on the rail, screwing them exactly to the number of revolutions recorded during removal. Install the rubber mounts on the steering gear housing. Make sure the steering wheel is in the straight ahead position and set the rack to the middle position.
Position the steering gear under the vehicle and insert the splined end of the drive pinion shaft into the bottom of the steering shaft. Fasten the steering mechanism with clamps, lock the clamp bolts with new lock washers. Attach the tie rod ends to the steering knuckles. Tighten castle nuts and install new cotter pins. Tighten the clamp bolt connecting the steering shaft to the drive gear shaft.
Lower vehicle, check front wheel alignment and adjust if necessary. Make sure the steering wheel is in the correct position.
