Distributor

Engines 1100 «sun» and 1100 «NS» equipped with a classic type ignition distributor (with contact interrupter) brand Bosch (0 321 170 276, 0 321 170 282) or Lucas (418 34. 41 835).

1300 and 1600 engines are equipped with a Bosch ignition distributor (0 237 600 005, 0 237 600 003) or Lucas (418 37. 418 38).

Every 10,000 km of run, check:
  • the condition of the contact surfaces, on which there should be no burn marks;
  • the value of the contact gap, which should be equal to 0.4-0.55 mm for Bosch ignition distributors and 0.40-0.59 mm for Lucas ignition distributors.

If there is significant burnout on the contact surfaces, the contacts must be replaced.

In addition, every 10,000 km of run or once a year, lubricate the cam, felt felt with engine oil, and clean the inner and outer surfaces of the distributor cap from dirt

The 1.6 XR3 engine is equipped with a Bosch 0 237 600 007 or Lucas 418 39 transistor contactless ignition distributor that does not require special maintenance.

Only the setting of the ignition timing is checked and, in case of unsatisfactory engine operation, adjustment.

Ignition timing check

The first check and adjustment of the initial ignition timing advance angle should be made after the first 2,500 km of run, the subsequent ones - every 10,000 km of run.

When checking the ignition distributor, it is also necessary to make sure that the vacuum and centrifugal regulators are working properly.

WARNING: To avoid high voltage electrical shock, do not touch live parts of the ignition system with bare hands.

Spark plug

Spark plugs with conical seat, gasketless. with a reduced body. The length of the threaded part is 14 mm. Spark plugs must be checked and cleaned every 10,000 km. To do this, unscrew the candles from the cylinders, clean them from soot and. possibly dirt. Check and, if necessary, adjust the spark (interelectrode) clearance, replace faulty spark plugs.

spark gap (0.6-0.8mm) is regulated only by bending the mass electrode. To avoid cracking of the insulating porcelain, turn out the candles only with a regular candle wrench.

ATTENTION: Screwing in and out of candles is carried out with a wrench with an elongated head 5/8" (16 mm), not the key 13/16" (21 mm), used for normal candles.
