Oil pressure control
Oil pressure control in the engine lubrication system is carried out using a control pump located in the center of the instrument cluster, which lights up when the ignition key is turned to «II and goes out as soon as the engine starts.
If the oil pressure warning lamp comes on when the engine is running, it indicates a dangerous decrease in the oil level in the crankcase or a malfunction in the lubrication system.
CAUTION: Operating the engine with the oil pressure warning light on can cause severe mechanical damage.
Oil level
The oil level in the engine lubrication system should be checked every time the fuel tank is filled, as well as every 2500 km.
Checking the oil level should be done a few minutes after stopping the engine (oil must drain into the crankcase) on as level and level ground as possible.
Remove oil dipstick (At) from the tube, carefully wipe it with a clean, lint-free cloth and insert it into the tube until it stops (pic. 5).
Remove the dipstick again and determine the oil level by its trace on the indicator line, which should be between the marks «min» And «max». If the oil level is below the mark «min», immediately add oil to the engine, but so. so that its level does not exceed the mark «max». Difference between marks «min» And «max» is 0.75 l.
Top up with oil of the same brand that is currently in the engine lubrication system.
Some engines are equipped with an emergency oil level warning light system. When the oil level approaches the mark «min» at a distance of less than 3 mm, a special sensor mounted on the dipstick is activated, and the control lamp lights up in the instrument cluster.
WARNING: If the vehicle is not level, the sensor may give an erroneous signal.
On vehicles equipped with an emergency oil level sensor, it is necessary to remove and insert the oil dipstick with extreme caution.
Changing the oil in the engine lubrication system
The engine oil is changed every 10,000 km or every six months of operation (whichever condition is met first). To change the oil:
- warm up the engine to normal operating temperature;
- install the car on a flat, as horizontal platform as possible;
- unscrew the screw plug (WITH) drain hole in the engine oil sump (pic. 6);
- remove the filler plug together with the breather tubes (If there are any);
- unscrew and remove the oil filter;
- let the oil drain and screw in the drain plug;
- install a new oil filter;
- fill the engine with fresh oil up to the mark «max» on the oil level gauge.
NOTES
1. In case of increased complexity of vehicle operating conditions (short runs, towing, frequent starts in the cold season, increased dust content in the air, etc.) It is recommended to change the oil and filter more frequently.
2. Every 10,000 km or at least once a year, check the tightness of the lubrication system by checking the connections and joints for leaks.
Oil filter replacement
The oil filter must be replaced at each oil change in the lubrication system, but at least every 10,000 km of run. Removed oil filters cannot be reused.
