Clutch cover 2 is attached to the flywheel with six bolts, and is connected to the pressure plate by elastic plates. The driven disk 1, complete with damper, is located on the splines of the input shaft of the gearbox. The clutch drive is cable-operated, backlash-free. The free travel of the clutch pedal is automatically adjusted by a ratchet mechanism mounted on the pedal axis (pic. 3.2).

Starting with serial no. DC 17041 from March 1983 on model vehicles «Escort RS 1600 i» Clutch cable lengthened by 150 mm In case of replacement, install a new type of cable. Clutch brands: Sachs, Automotive or Laycock.
