Withdrawal
1. Loosen the wheel bolts, raise the vehicle, unscrew the bolts and remove the wheel.
2. Disconnect the brake hose from the strut (on vehicles manufactured from 05.1983).
3. Place a support under the drive shaft or tie the shaft to the steering rack housing.
4. Unscrew the coupling bolt of the strut to the steering knuckle, insert tool 14-026 into the groove of the steering knuckle and turn it 90°, spreading the suspension strut mount. In the absence of a fixture, the rack mount can be spread with the appropriate lever.
5. Press the steering knuckle down until the rack is completely released.
6. Install a temporary support under the suspension strut.
7. Unscrew the two bolts securing the suspension strut to the body at the top, remove the temporary support and remove the strut (vehicles up to 05.1983) (see fig. Top strut mount to body).
8. Unscrew the stem fastening nut using a bent ring wrench, while holding the stem from turning with a 6 mm wrench and remove the stand (vehicles from 05.1983) (see fig. Top strut mount to body).
Installation
1. Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
2. Before installing the strut in the steering knuckle, separate the strut attachment point with tool 14-026.
