When adding oil to the engine, you can add oil of one specification to oil of another specification. If the air temperature is only briefly outside the temperature limits given here, the oil should not be changed.
Attention! Seasonal oils, due to their inherent specific viscosity-temperature properties, usually cannot be used all year round. Therefore, these oils should only be used in extreme climatic zones.
Attention! When using multigrade oils of SAE 5W-30 class, it is necessary to avoid prolonged operation of the engine at high speed and constant heavy load on the engine. These restrictions do not apply to multigrade oils with improved antifriction properties.
1. Before starting the procedure, gather together all the necessary tools and materials. It is necessary that the engine be warm so that the oil drains better along with the bulk of the contaminants.
2. Raise the car on a lift or place the car in a horizontal position above the inspection hole.
3. Remove the oil filler cap and place a container under the oil drain plug.
4. Loosen drain plug about half a turn.
5. Place an oil drain container under the drain plug (arrow) and unscrew the plug completely. If necessary, press on the plug while unscrewing to prevent the oil from leaking prematurely.
6. When the oil is completely drained, wipe everything around the drain hole with a rag and screw the plug securely into place, tightening it to the required torque.
7. Move the container under the oil filter.
8. Using the special tool, loosen the oil filter, then unscrew it by hand.
9. Wipe off all traces of oil and dirt around the filter attachment. Check if the rubber seal is left on the cylinder block. If it remains, then remove it.
10. Lubricate the rubber seal of the new oil filter with clean engine oil and screw in the oil filter by hand until the rubber gasket touches the engine, then tighten the filter by hand 1/2 turn.
11. Fill the engine with oil using the correct grade of oil. Pour in half the required amount of oil and wait a few minutes for the oil to drain into the sump, then continue pouring oil in small portions until the oil level reaches the required level on the dipstick.
12. If the oil level is at the minimum level, adding about another liter will raise the oil level to the maximum level on the dipstick. Close the filler cap.
13. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
14. Check the engine for oil leaks around the filter and drain plug on the sump. It must be borne in mind that the oil pressure indicator light may be on for several seconds, as the oil must fill all channels and oil reservoirs in the engine.
15. Stop the engine and wait at least 3 minutes for the oil to drain into the sump.
16. Check oil level and top up if necessary.
17. Check the tightness of the oil drain plug.
