Temperature sensor for turning on the fan

            0

The temperature sensor for turning on the fan is installed on the thermostat housing under the fitting of the cooling system hose. When the coolant reaches a certain temperature, the sensor turns on the radiator fan motor.

Examination

1. If on a hot engine, with a working thermostat, the fan does not turn on, it is necessary to check the temperature sensor for turning on the fan.

2. Warm up the engine until the pointer of the temperature gauge is in the red sector of the scale. The fan should then turn on. Otherwise, turn off the engine, remove the connector from the temperature sensor and close the contacts on the connector with an additional wire.

3. If the fan runs when the ignition is turned on, the fan on temperature sensor is faulty and needs to be replaced.
