Gas distribution system — specifications

The camshaft is located in the cylinder head, drives the valves through the valve lever and is driven by a toothed belt.

The valve clearance is set automatically.

TDC and BDC are top and bottom dead center respectively.

Toothed belt

Make and type: Motorcraft 81 5M 6268 GE. The toothed belt is replaced after 60,000 km of the car's run.

Belt tension:
– engines with a displacement of 1.1 dm3	30 – 42 Nm
– engines with a displacement of 1.3 and 1.6 dm3	20 – 32 Nm

The camshaft rotates in five bearings.
