Capacitor — removal and installation

1. Remove the cover and distributor rotor and disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the ignition coil.

2. On the OHV engine, mark the position of the distributor relative to its mounting plate and unscrew the mounting bolt.

3. Rotate the distributor clockwise by 120°so that the capacitor is on top, unscrew its fastening screws, pull back its contact plate and remove the capacitor.

4. On the CVH motor, unscrew the screws securing the capacitor.

5. On the Bosch distributor, disconnect the capacitor wire from the breaker contacts, disconnect the rubber bushing and remove the capacitor.

6. On the Lucas distributor, remove the contact spring from the holder, disconnect the wire from the spring and remove the capacitor.
