General OHV engine data

            0

The engine is a gasoline, four-stroke, four-cylinder, in-line, water-cooled, mounted transversely in front of the car.

OHV engines (OHV – Overhead valves) with a camshaft mounted on three bearings, on the side of the engine block and chain driven from the crankshaft. The gas distribution system is designed according to the principle of cross purge, i.e. the fuel mixture is fed into the cylinders from one side of the engine, and the products of combustion are removed from the other side, through the exhaust system. The intake and exhaust valves are actuated by the camshaft via tappets and levers. The crankshaft is mounted on three bearings and balanced by counterweights. The axial play of the crankshaft is regulated by thrust half rings installed on both sides of the central main bearing.

The camshaft driven oil pump is mounted on the side of the engine block under the ignition distributor. A full-flow oil filter is mounted on the oil pump housing.
