Depending on the position of the gearshift lever, the vehicle speed and the position of the accelerator pedal, mechanical or hydraulic torque is transmitted to the vehicle's drive wheels. In connection with the combined transmission of torque, slippage between the elements of the gearbox is reduced and efficiency is increased, which improves dynamic performance while reducing fuel consumption.
For a significant increase in speed when overtaking or when driving on an incline, there is a forced downshift mode (Kickdown), which turns on when the accelerator pedal is fully depressed and held in this position. In this case, the box either stays in a lower gear longer, or it is forced to downshift.
