Joint housing seal

Work on sealing the hinge housing is only carried out if there is an adapter flange for installing a protective cover.

1. Remove drive shaft.

2. Mark the position of the shaft to the inner ring and the adapter flange to the joint housing.



3. Unscrew the six bolts and remove the adapter flange from the hinge housing.

4. Remove the circlip and remove the drive shaft from the joint.

5. Thoroughly clean the contact surfaces on the joint housing and on the adapter flange, apply a layer of non-hardening sealing compound on them and assemble the drive shaft according to the previously made marks. Use only Ford sealing compound 6170892

6. Install the drive shaft to the vehicle.
