Body scratch treatment
If the scratch is superficial and does not reach the metal, wipe the area around the scratch with paint refresher or fine grit abrasive paste. Rinse the surface with clean water. Apply a thin layer of paint to the scratch with a brush and let it dry. Continue applying paint until the scratch is level with the surrounding surface. Allow the paint to cure for 2 weeks, then sand the applied coat of paint to match the surrounding paint. Finally, polish the area of the body surface with wax paste.
If the scratch has damaged the paint and has penetrated the metal of the body, then use the tip of a sharp knife to remove the rust from the scratch. Repair of dents in the body structure

The optimal leveling of the dent is approximately 3 mm below the level of the surrounding surface. If you have access to the inside of the dent, tap it gently with a soft hammer with a wooden or plastic head. During this operation, a suitable wooden block should be pressed firmly against the outside of the tapped area. This is required to absorb hammer blows and to prevent arching over a larger area. If the dent is located in an area of the body where access from the back is difficult or impossible, then drill several small holes at the deepest points of the dent, screw self-tapping screws into the holes and pull the dent with pliers by the protruding screw heads. Remove the paint from the damaged area and at a distance of 20 mm around it. This can be done most easily using a wire brush or sandpaper placed on a wheel fixed in an electric drill. After leveling the dent, apply a layer of putty, paint and polish to it.
Repair of rusted holes or holes in the body structure
Remove the paint from the damaged area and approximately 20 mm around it. Using a wire brush, clean loose rust from the bare metal surface of the damaged area. Treat the damaged area with a rust converter according to its instructions. Cover the hole against rust or hole with a metal mesh or a strip of aluminum foil. Putty and body painting
When performing puttying work, it is necessary to have a wide flexible plastic or nylon spatula to make the putty surface smooth. Align the putty on the damaged area of the body in such a way as to give it the desired shape and smoothness. As soon as it was possible to achieve approximately the required contour, stop smoothing the putty with a spatula. if it is smoothed for too long, it will begin to harden, stick to the spatula and roll off, as a result of which the surface will be damaged. Applying a subsequent thinner layer of putty should be done after the previous layer has dried and so on until then. until the level of putty begins to protrude slightly above the level of the treated area. After the putty has hardened, its excess must be removed with a metal scraper or file. Further processing is carried out using a set of sandpaper. Start with coarse grit sandpaper and then move on to fine grit. Sandpaper should be placed on a wooden flat bar, otherwise it is impossible to achieve a smooth surface. At the final stage of grinding, waterproof sandpaper should be periodically moistened with water. This gives the processed puttied surface a special smoothness. The puttied dent should be surrounded around the perimeter by a layer of clean metal. To remove dust and grease from the treated area, rinse the treated area with water and wipe with a degreasing solution. Spray the area with a thin layer of light primer. This will help to identify all defects in the putty made during processing. Align the detected defects with a new layer of putty and re-sand the surface. Continue this procedure until a perfect surface is obtained.

Dry the area to be treated before further painting. The application of a layer of paint is carried out with a spray gun. The thickness of the paint layer is achieved by applying several thin layers. Painting should start from the center of the area to be painted and move towards the edges in a reciprocating motion until the entire surface to be painted, as well as about 20 mm around it, has been painted. Remove the protective film and newspapers 10-15 minutes after applying the last coat of paint. Allow the fresh paint to cure for at least 2 weeks then use a paint refresher or fine abrasive polishing paste to smooth the edges of the painted area to the level of the old paint. Polish the surface.
