Rear handbrake cable

Withdrawal


Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands. Release the handbrake lever and remove the rear wheels.

Remove the front handbrake cable.

Disconnect the left and right rear cables from the leveling plate.

Remove the lock pin from the cable adjustment block. Loosen the adjustment device and release the cables from the brackets on the bottom of the car (see fig. 9.57). To do this, remove the spring clips from the cable guides.



Drum brakes


Remove the rear brake drum and brake pads.

Squeeze the tabs of the handbrake cable retainer and remove it from the brake shield. Disconnect the cable from the mounting brackets and remove it from under the car (see fig. 9.58, 9.59).





Disc brakes


Remove the handbrake return spring, disconnect the cable from the handbrake actuator lever.

Remove the circlip securing the cable sheath to the bracket and remove the cable.

Disconnect the cable from the mounting brackets and remove it from under the car.

Installation. All models


Installation is made in sequence, return to removal.
