Replacing the rear brake pads on disc brakes

            0

Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands. Remove rear wheels. Using a hammer and drift, knock out the mounting pins from the caliper and remove the lock plate (see fig. 9.37).

Remove the brake pads from the caliper (see fig. 9.38).

Clean the caliper from dust and dirt. When installing new brake pads, the pistons must be pushed into the caliper.

Attention. When the piston is pushed in, the brake fluid is forced out of the brake cylinder into the expansion tank, so keep an eye on the level of the brake fluid in the tank. If necessary pump out a liquid from a tank.

Install the brake pads into the caliper and secure with the upper mounting pin. Install the pad fixing plate and the lower mounting pin.

Repeat the pad change operation on the other wheel. Depress the brake pedal several times until the brake pads press against the brake disc. Check the brake fluid level in the reservoir. Install wheels and lower vehicle. After installing new pads, they should run in. For the first 200 km of run, it is not recommended to make maximum braking.
