Withdrawal
Raise the front of the car and secure it on stands. Remove the corresponding front wheel.
Unscrew and remove the clamping bolt securing the lower arm ball joint to the steering knuckle. Press the transverse lever down from the steering knuckle. In case of difficulty, insert a pry bar between the lever and the car body and push the lever down.
Attention. Be careful not to damage the protective boot of the ball joint.
Unscrew the 2 bolts securing the transverse arm to the transverse beam (see fig. 10.21).
If the ball joint or bushing on the inside of the control arm is worn, replace the control arm as a set.
Installation
Installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal, taking into account the following points:
- install the bolts of the lever to the beam from below and screw the nuts by hand;
- when attaching the ball joint of the suspension arm to the steering knuckle, install the clamping bolt and, when screwing the nut, fix the bolt from turning;
- make the final tightening of the bolts of the transverse arm to the beam after lowering the car on the wheels.
