Withdrawal
Raise the rear of the car and secure it on stands. Remove rear wheels.
Place 1 jack in the center or 2 jacks at the ends under the rear axle beam and raise it just enough to support the weight of the beam.
Unscrew the rear brake hoses and close the ends of the tubes with plugs. Remove the brake drum/hub and brake shield from each side of the rear axle. The brake shields can be left on the axle, but it will be necessary to remove the brake pipe from the working brake cylinder, as well as disconnect the handbrake cable from each brake shield.
Remove the lower bolts securing the shock absorber to the rear axle.
Unscrew the nuts and remove the U-brackets securing the rear axle to the spring. Lower the rear axle and remove from under the vehicle.
Installation
Installation is done in sequence. reverse withdrawal. Finally, bleed the air from the brake system and adjust the hand brake.
