Withdrawal
Disconnect the ground wire from the battery and protect the battery from flooding it with fuel.
Remove the alternator drive belt. Remove the A/C compressor drive belt.
Disconnect the four fuel supply hoses from the fuel pump and plug the holes in the disconnected hoses and in the pump with appropriate plugs.
Disconnect the accelerator pedal cable from the fuel pump. Disconnect the cable from the thermal probe.
Disconnect the accelerator pedal cable bracket.
Disconnect the fuel pump electrical connections.
Disconnect the fuel supply and return hoses from the fuel pump.
Disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the power steering pump by placing a container in advance to collect the resulting oil.
Remove the steering pump drive belt.
Remove the steering pump pulley.
Drain the coolant from the cooling system.
Raise the engine with a hoist. and then unscrew the upper engine mount holder.
Disconnect the flexible cooling system hose from the engine.
Remove the top and bottom distribution drive covers.
Remove from engine crankcase. above the alternator, the check hole plug, and install the mounting rod in the hole (1. fig. 2E.13).
Slowly turn the crankshaft in the direction of working rotation until it stops against the locating rod.
Insert rod (8. fig. 2E.47) with a diameter of 6 mm into the longitudinal adjustment hole of the fuel pump gear.
Insert rod (7) with a diameter of 6 mm in the control hole of the camshaft gear.
Loosen tensioner (2) and remove the toothed belt (1) distribution drive.
Loosen tensioner (5) fuel pump timing belt.
unscrew the bolts (WITH) fuel pump gears.
Remove rod (8) from the fuel pump gear.
Remove the fuel pump gear along with the toothed belt.
Hold the fuel pump and unscrew the three Togh bolts securing the pump.
Remove the fuel pump.
Installation
Check if the crankshaft rests on the dowel pin (1. fig. 2E.13).
Position the fuel pump on the engine and tighten the three Tox bolts securing its flange.
Install the fuel pump gear, aligning the cutouts in the pump flange and the lengthwise adjustment hole in the pump gear. Attention Do not screw in bolts of fastening of a gear wheel of the fuel pump.
Insert rod (8) 6 mm diameter into the fuel pump gear hole. This rod must freely enter the gear hole and into the gap deep into the pump to the end of its length.
Put on a gear belt of a drive of the fuel pump.
Tighten the fuel pump gear bolts by hand, and then move the tensioner pulley to the fuel pump drive timing belt.
Screw in the corresponding moment bolts of fastening of a gear wheel of the fuel pump.
Install the distribution timing belt.
Remove all mounting rods.
Rotate the crankshaft two full turns in the direction of rotation while the engine is running.
Set the crankshaft to TDC on cylinder No. 1 using the crankshaft stud.
Install the dowel pins in the camshaft and fuel pump gears. If it is not possible to correctly position both of these rods, repeat all pump installation operations.
Follow the steps to install the fuel pump in reverse order of removal.
Fill and bleed the cooling system, fuel system and hydraulic system.
Check and, if necessary, adjust the idle speed.
