Withdrawal


Remove the gearbox and clutch.

Unscrew the six mounting bolts, and remove the flywheel from the rear end of the crankshaft. To prevent the crankshaft from turning when unscrewing the bolts, fix the flywheel with a special tool for the ring gear.

Examination


Inspect the ring gear on the flywheel for broken or excessively worn teeth. If wear is evident, the ring gear must be replaced or a complete new flywheel must be used.

The friction surface of the clutch disc should be checked for grooves, scratches or gouges. In the presence of defects, the working surface of the flywheel can be reground, provided the flywheel is re-balanced.

Installation


Check that the mating surfaces of the flywheel and crankshaft are clean Lubricate the threads of the mounting bolts with engine oil before screwing. Install the flywheel on the crankshaft. and insert the bolts Screw in the bolts by hand, then gradually and sequentially tighten them to the required torque (see fig. 2A.39).



Install the clutch and gearbox.
