Removing the engine with gearbox

            0

This chapter contains operations for removing the engine together with the gearbox from the car, and operations for overhauling the cylinder head, cylinder block and other engine components. Information regarding the repair of the engine installed in the vehicle is given in parts A, B and C of this chapter.

Removal of the engine without gearbox is made upwards from the engine compartment using a lifting mechanism. It is also possible to remove the engine together with the gearbox, however, this is much more difficult. to do this, you need to install the car on a lift and, using an additional lift, lower the engine together with the gearbox down, having previously disconnected and removed the units that prevent the removal of the power unit. When removing the engine, it is desirable to mark all hoses, wires and cables, which will greatly facilitate the work when installing the engine.
