Replacing transmission fluid in an automatic transmission

Change the transmission fluid with a cold gearbox.

Install the car on a lift or over a viewing hole.

Install a suitable container below the drain plug on the transmission oil sump. Remove the transmission fluid dipstick. to speed up the drain.

Clean the area around the drain plug in the transmission oil sump, then unscrew the plug and drain the fluid into a container.

After draining the transmission fluid, clean the plug and screw it back into place.

Pour new transmission fluid into the transmission through the dipstick hole.
