Attention. The engine must be started with the hand brake applied. The shift lever must be set to neutral, and in an automatic transmission - to position "N" And"R".
Vehicles with automatic transmission
Start the engine with the lever in position "R". High idle speeds on a cold engine are not allowed. Be sure to apply the hand brake or depress the foot brake pedal.
Starting a cold gasoline engine
An engine with a temperature below 0°C is considered cold.
When starting the engine, be sure to depress the clutch to disengage the gearbox with thickened oil. The clutch can be released after the engine starts to run steadily.
Turn on the starter by turning the ignition key to position III. Turn on the starter for no more than 10 seconds. If the engine does not start on the first try, restart after 30 seconds at the earliest.
Do not press the accelerator pedal when starting the engine.
If the engine does not start after two attempts, then excess fuel has entered the engine and in this case, refer to the section "Starting a gasoline engine with fuel overflow".
After starting the engine, lightly depress the accelerator pedal to increase the idle speed.
Starting a hot gasoline engine
Start the engine without depressing the accelerator pedal. If, after three attempts, the engine does not start, refer to section "Starting a gasoline engine with fuel overflow".
Starting a gasoline engine with fuel overflow
Accelerator pedal slowly press to the stop and hold in this position.
Start the engine with a starter. If the engine does not start, repeat the steps for starting a hot gasoline engine.
Diesel engine start
Turn the ignition key to position II and wait until the glow plug indicator light goes out.
With a cold engine, press the clutch and accelerator pedals to the stop and, holding them in this position, start the engine.
If the engine does not start within 20 seconds, restart after a short period of time.
