CTX automatic transmission with continuously variable gear ratio over the entire speed range. The transmission of torque from the engine to the input shaft of the gearbox is not realized through the converter, but through a multi-plate oil clutch. A smooth change in the gear ratio is carried out using a steel tape, consisting of a large number of elements in the form of scales. The tape transmits torque from the input shaft of the box to the secondary, passing in pairs of conical pulleys. To obtain the required gear ratio, the pulleys are either hydraulically shifted to one another or moved apart, and the tape, depending on this, moves along the cone either to the pulley axis or to its outer edge. The result is a stepless change in gear ratio.



The gearbox control unit provides the optimal gear ratio for any driving mode with maximum efficiency. For a significant increase in speed when overtaking or when driving on an incline, there is a forced downshift mode, which is activated by fully depressing and holding the accelerator pedal. In this case, the transmission either stays in a lower gear longer or is forced to downshift. The range of gear ratios corresponds to the gear ratio of a mechanical 5-speed gearbox.

Precautions

If the vehicle is parked with the engine running, apply the handbrake and set the selector lever to "R". If the selector lever is in position "IN", "R", "D" or "L" then do not increase the engine speed above idle speed. If the front wheels are off the ground and the selector lever is in the "R", "D" or "L", then the engine speed should not exceed 3000 rpm. When the vehicle is being towed, the ignition must be on and the selector lever must be in the "R". The towing distance should not exceed 50 km, and the speed should not exceed 50 km/h. because damage may occur due to insufficient lubrication. Raise the front of the vehicle if you need to tow a longer distance.
