Handbrake adjustment

The hand brake is self-adjusting.

To adjust the stroke of the hand brake lever, press the main brake pedal, leaving the hand brake lever free. If this procedure does not bring the desired result, i.e. the handbrake lever travel does not decrease, the brake pad adjusters need to be checked. In this case, it is necessary to remove the brake drums, clean and wash the rear brake shoe system.

At the same time, it is also necessary to clean the rear brake shoe clearance adjusters. It will be useful to familiarize yourself with the contents of the subsection on replacing the handbrake cable.
