Checking the oil level

            0

Checking the oil level in an automatic transmission can only be done when the transmission is at normal operating temperature (+65°С). Therefore, the gearbox must be warmed up while driving with the control lever set to "D", that is, for driving under normal conditions. Before checking, make sure that there is at least a minimum amount of oil in the gearbox.

Park the vehicle on a level surface.

The hand lever must be in position "R".

The engine must be running at idle speed.

Remove the dipstick and wipe it off until no dirt remains.

Insert the dipstick into place, press it against the stop and remove it again.

A trace of oil should be visible on the dipstick, located at the level of the sign "MAX" (pic. 3.45).

Top up if necessary by adding oil through the tube that guides the dipstick. The automatic transmission must contain oil FORD ESP - M2S166 - N. The oil in the transmission is replaced after 40,000 km of the car's run.

When checking the oil level, it is necessary to check its condition.

Under normal conditions, the oil should be clean. A dark oil color means the clutch is (clutch) "burnt". In this case, the gearbox must be replaced.

If there are foreign bodies in the oil, such as metal filings, the gearbox must also be removed and replaced.

And if the oil is thick and sticky, then in addition to the automatic transmission, it is necessary to replace the oil cooler, as well as the oil lines connected to it.
