Description and test of clutch operation

            0

The car has a single plate dry clutch. The clutch cover is bolted to the flywheel. The clutch serves to seamlessly connect the engine to the gearbox. Access to the clutch opens after disconnecting the gearbox from the power unit. The clutch is controlled by a pedal, which is connected to it by a steel wire cable.

Checking clutch operation

Warm up the vehicle to normal operating temperature and drive up to a steep grade road. At the beginning of the climb, engage fifth gear, and then press the gas pedal. If the engine speed has increased, and the car does not go faster, then the clutch is slipping.

The most common causes of slipping clutch are the following factors:
  • clutch wear,
  • oiling the clutch disc,
  • wear of the pressure spring, leading to loss of elasticity.
