Removing the door

Work on all doors is carried out in the same way, as an example, the work performed on the driver's door is given.



SEQUENCE OF WORK

1. If your vehicle is equipped with central locking, door speakers, and power windows, first disconnect the cable from the negative battery terminal.

2. Unscrew the rubber seal 1 (pic. 17.2) doors from the front pillar.

3. Turn counterclockwise and disconnect a contact socket of 2 dynamics, the central lock and an electric window regulator.

4. Turn away bolts 3 fastenings of fingers of hinges of a door.


5. Knock out the hinge pins. Auto repair shops use a special punch for this, but you can use a steel rod or a bolt of a suitable diameter.

6. First knock out the lower pivot pin by tapping with a plastic mallet. In this case, the assistant must support the door.

7. In the same way knock out a pin of the top hinge.

8. Carefully remove the door from the hinges and place it securely on a suitable pad.

9. Lubricate both hinge pins with grease before installation and insert into the hinges until knurled. Lubricate the hinges, hammer the fingers and secure them with bolts.

10. Establish rubber consolidation of a door and connect a contact socket and a wire to the negative plug of the storage battery.

Door position adjustment

Park the vehicle on a level, level surface. Since the hinges are welded to the body and door frame, door adjustment is carried out by changing the position of the shock plate on the middle pillar.



SEQUENCE OF WORK

1. Loosen the screws securing the shock plate to the middle post.

2. Close the door and set it in such a position that the lower edge of the door will be in line with the body.

3. Press down on the door handle and lift slightly to open the door carefully.

4. In this position, secure the striker plate securely with screws. Repeat the adjustment if necessary.
