SEQUENCE OF WORK
1. Raise the glass up to the stop.
2. Remove an internal upholstery of a door. Carefully remove the moisture barrier film from the door frame, as a damaged film will allow water to pass through.
3. Turn away two screws of fastening of a back directing of glass and get it from a door.

4. Gently lower the glass (momentarily connect the power window connector) so that the screws securing the glass to the power window are set against the holes in the door panel (pic. 16.26).
5. Turn away screws of fastening of glass to a window regulator.
6. Fully lower the side window.
Since the rear rail is now missing, support the glass with your hand.
7. Being careful, use a wide screwdriver to lift the glass rubber seal from the door.
8. Tilt the glass forward and obliquely and pull it up out of the door frame.

9. Drill out the power window rivets (pic. 16.27).
10. Tilt and turn, get the power window from the door.
11. Disconnect the connector from the power window motor. Remove the three motor mounting bolts and remove it from the door.

12. Insert a new power window into the door, install in place and secure with new countersunk rivets (pic. 16.28).
13. On models with electric windows install the electric motor and fix it with screws.
14. Carefully install the glass in the door.
15. Raise the glass up after pulling out the glass guide.
16. Lower the glass completely and install the glass rubber seal into the door frame.
17. Raise the glass up to the stop and install the lower glass guide.
18. Lower and raise the glass. If jammed, adjust the position of the rails, then with the glass fully lowered, securely tighten the screws securing the rails.
19. Raise the glass up so that the threaded holes for the screws securing the glass to the power window are set against the holes in the door panel. Screw in the screws and tighten them to a torque of 10 Nm.
20. Further installation is carried out in the reverse order of removal.
PRACTICAL ADVICE
Power window does not work while driving
Switch malfunction.
Remove the switch on the other door and connect it to the connector in place of the failed switch. If the connector is operational, you can close the window.
Broken wire to motor.
Run an additional wire from the battery to the motor connector (if there is no positive voltage) or from «masses» (if missing «weight») and close the window.
Motor damage.
Remove the door trim. Loosen the screws securing the glass to the power window and lift it up. Temporarily secure the glass in this position with strong adhesive tape or support it underneath with a suitable piece of wood. Naturally, these are only temporary measures.
