You can check the brake system yourself on a flat, horizontal paved area closed to traffic.
SEQUENCE OF WORK
1. First of all, check the braking from a low vehicle speed. If the brake marks are the same, then the brakes are applied at the same time. This also applies to vehicles with anti-lock braking systems, as ABS does not work at low speeds.
2. At a vehicle speed of approximately 50 km / h, release the steering wheel - hands should be ready to take the wheel again - and start braking, first smoothly, and then sharply until the car comes to a complete stop. When you press the brake pedal hard, you should feel the vibration of the pedal during the operation of the ABS system, this is normal. If the vehicle pulls to the left when braking, one of the right wheel brakes is not working. The car pulls towards the wheels with stronger brakes.
3. After checking, park the Fiesta on a gentle slope and roll it to make sure all wheels turn freely. After a test drive, check the temperature of the rims by hand. If one of the discs is warmer than the others, a stuck caliper or a permanently tightened parking brake may be the cause.
