Fiesta steering play adjustment is best left to a workshop, as it has the necessary measuring tool. You can check the backlash yourself after installing the car on a flat paved area.



SEQUENCE OF WORK

The test is carried out with the engine off. Set the front wheels to drive straight ahead.

Lower the door glass on the driver's side, through the open window, grab the steering wheel and turn it slightly left and right.

Does the left front wheel turn from straight ahead? Pay attention to the rim, as the elastic tire can deform before it turns.

If you have determined that there is no play when the wheels are in a straight-line position, but there is sticking at a large steering angle, this means the gear rack is worn. In this case, the steering gear assembly must be replaced.
