SEQUENCE OF WORK
1. Thoroughly clean damaged areas with gasoline or thinner.
2. If your vehicle's paintwork has paint from another vehicle, carefully buff the area with a polishing pad, polish, or cleaner to a top coat. The polishing area should be as small as possible.
Pic. 3.16. Removing small and large scratches with sanding paste or paint cleaner when the top coat is not damaged
Minor and major scratches can be repaired with sanding paste or paint cleaner when the top coat is still intact (pic. 3.16). Use only quality material from specialized stores.
3. Sand the torn edges of the scratch carefully with a small strip of fine sanding paper (grit not less than 800) using water. At the same time, constantly moisten the sanding paper and pour water on the grinding site. Do not remove the top coat.
4. Then polish the damaged area with a soft polish. In this case, paint particles from the adjacent paint layer will be distributed in the scratch.
5. Cover the treated area with a preservative.
6. Finally, if desired, polish the entire car.
