Pic. 2.31. The jack supplied with the Fiesta must only be installed at a specific location on the body of the vehicle
Ford equips Fiesta with standard screw jack (pic. 2.31). For most jobs, the lifting height of a serial jack is completely sufficient. By using a strong pad between the jack legs and the surface on which it is located, you can slightly increase the height of the jack. You should always underlay a thin board, in this case the jack stands stronger, its support distributes the pressure on the ground. However, it must be taken into account that the lift, as its name implies, serves exclusively for lifting, it will by no means replace a solid support.
Using props for car repairs

Always, even when in a hurry, place strong stands under the Fiesta (pic. 2.32). Failure to do so may result in injury or even loss of life. Two support legs are sufficient for most repairs. When purchasing, choose the practical support legs with three legs and fold-out legs. Pay attention to the sign confirming that the support legs have passed the state control, and the load capacity.
Finally, press firmly on the vehicle so that the jack head is correctly positioned under the vehicle.
Marked places in front of the car A (pic. 2.33) designed to install a jack. Hardwood board located between the head of the jack (except for the jacks supplied with the car) and the bottom of the car, better distributes the load and prevents possible damage to the bottom of the car.

When the Fiesta is raised, you can support it by placing support stands in the placesIN (see fig. 2.33). Make sure that the leg of the support leg is directed towards the outer edge of the body.
If it is necessary to raise the Fiesta with the jack supplied with the vehicle or with a stationary lift, use the places on the side reinforcements WITH (see fig. 2.33).
SEQUENCE OF WORK
1. Place the vehicle on a solid, level surface and remove all foreign objects from the passenger compartment and trunk before starting work.
2. Set the parking brake and put wedges under the wheels of the car (in their absence - suitable items: bar, brick, etc.). The parking brake cannot be relied on alone, as it must be released for some jobs.

3. The jack is located, together with the wheelbrace and the towing eye, under the right side trim in the trunk. To bring the jack into working condition, first use the handle to unscrew it until it stops with the ground, and then adjust it so that it stands vertically under the lifting point (pic. 2.34). The jack is installed only in those places of the bottom, which are marked in Fig. 2.33. A wood block lift to distribute the weight is only installed under the door reinforcement or in another place intended for lifting (for example, traverse).
4. Raise the jack to the required working height and place a support stand under the body in the appropriate place (trestles). Also use an intermediate spacer to distribute the weight (e.g. hard rubber, wooden block).
5. Before installing the support legs, check if there are any kinks in the wiring harness and cables or brake lines in this place.
6. The safest setup for three-legged jack stands is with one leg pointing outward and the other two under the vehicle. Be sure to check the correct location of the support legs, especially when using several support legs, as when the vehicle is raised, one of the installed support legs may move to the side.
