Coolant replacement

            0

Ford does not prescribe regular coolant changes. If necessary, replace the coolant as follows.

every 24 months

SEQUENCE OF WORK

1. To relieve pressure in the cooling system, open the cap of the expansion tank. Be careful when working on a hot engine - there is a risk of burns!

2. Place a clean container under the radiator and loosen the lower radiator hose clamp or unscrew the cap on the lower radiator tank.

3. To make the coolant drain better, remove the plug from the expansion tank. Drain the coolant and cover the container with the drained liquid.

4. Install the lower radiator hose and secure it with a clamp (use a new clamp if necessary). Tighten the drain plug securely.

5. Fill the expansion tank with the prescribed coolant. Remaining quantity (about 2 mm to the top mark) fill with as soft water as possible until no air bubbles appear.

6. Start the engine and let it run at medium speed until the thermostat opens. If necessary, add tap water to the expansion tank. The level in the expansion tank should remain constant when the engine is warm.

7. Close the cap of the expansion tank and make a test drive, during which the air will be removed from the coolant.

8. After a test drive, carefully remove the cap of the expansion tank and let the engine run at medium speed until the radiator fan turns off.

9. Check the level and, if necessary, add tap water to the top mark of the expansion tank.

10. Close the cap of the expansion tank.
