Checking the door contact switch

            0

Interior lighting is controlled by door contact switches in the doors. The switches are located in the door wedge locks of the B- or C-pillars. In case of malfunctions, check the switches.

Use a test lamp or multimeter to check if there is voltage at the door contact switches.

If not, first check fuse 36 in the central fuse box under the dashboard.

If no defect is found there, trace, starting from the fuse box, the passage of voltage to the contact switch.

Hidden behind the lock pin: Checking the door contact switch

Is there a break in the wire? Is the plug contact in the switch rusty? Perhaps the switch is stuck?

Repair the problem and be sure to then vigorously move all switches on the sliding surfaces.

If the switches are jammed, clean the sliding surfaces with benzine and lightly grease the contacts.

If after this the lighting still does not work, then replace the defective (e) switch (And).
