The tie rod heads are located on the right and left between the tie rod and the steering tie rod arm. The steel spherical head is surrounded by a self-lubricating synthetic material - a cuff filled with a special lubricant that does not allow dirt and dampness to pass through. Tie rod heads with defective collars or with too much clearance must be replaced immediately.
Stages of work
Check the cuffs of the heads of the transverse steering rods for external damage (e.g. cracks).
Check the clearance in the hinge. It is better to do this over a viewing hole.
Have your assistant turn the steering wheel right and left a few times. Feel with your hand to see if there is play in the tie rod joints.
