Stages of work
Fully rotate each wheel once. Carefully remove stones and other foreign bodies from the tread. If a piece of glass or a nail is already sitting in the tire cover, the carcass may be damaged. Just in case, have the tire inspected by a specialist - even if it is not yet breathable.
Pay attention to problems such as punctures, cuts, cracks and torn pieces of the profile. If the rubber is damaged, dampness easily penetrates the inside of the tire, you cannot see it from the outside with the naked eye. For safety's sake, have the tire inspected by a specialist. This should also be done with noticeable tire wear.
From the inside, a fracture of the frame is visible
Unilateral wear: consequences of distorted axle geometry
Tire profile over the entire tread must be at least 2 mm. You will see the thickness of the residual profile on the tread in many places at once. Wherever the letters twi are embossed on the sidewall of the tire (tread wear indicator), profile grooves have jumpers passing across at a height of 1.6 mm. If the cross bars are at the same height as the tread, then you should immediately replace the tires, as driving performance deteriorates as the profile wears, especially on wet roads. Replace summer tires with new ones already with a residual profile depth of 2.5 mm. Winter tires lose grip already at about 4.5 mm.
Check if the tires are worn evenly.
Take a close look at the sides of the tires; Blisters are an indisputable sign of damage to the tire carcass.
Erased middle of the profile: a consequence of frequent trips in the upper speed range and with too high air pressure in the tires
