Towing a car to start the engine

            0

Turn on the ignition, put the second gear and press the clutch pedal.

The towing vehicle must gently approach.

At about 15 km/h, slowly engage the clutch. Always be ready to slow down (hand on the handbrake!).

When the engine starts, depress the clutch pedal, shift out of gear and carefully increase the throttle.

Sound the horn to the towing vehicle, brake both vehicles gently.

Most vehicles with automatic transmission do not tow. Do not torment him with a long ride on the towline - this can damage the catalyst (see «car pushing»). Trust this work only to an experienced towing vehicle and remember that when the engine is not running, the stopping distance is lengthened (brake booster not working).
