Dismantling the generator

Engines with a displacement of 1.4 / 1.6 liters

Disconnect the ground wire on the battery.

Remove the drive belt as described above.

Remove the wire protection panel on the generator.

Disconnect the wire connector, remove the wire.

Unscrew the lower fixing bolt.

Unscrew the top fixing bolt, unscrew the nut.

Take out the generator.

When mounting, install the structural elements in reverse order.

Tighten the mounting bolts and nut to 45 Nm.

Tighten the wire tab to 8 Nm.

Engines with a displacement of 1.8 / 2.0 liters

Disconnect the ground wire on the battery.

Remove the drive belt as described above.

Remove the wire protection panel on the generator.

Disconnect the wire connector, remove the wire.

Unscrew a bolt of a broad tank with a cooling liquid.

Disconnect the clamps of the coolant expansion tank and, having protected from leakage, set aside.

Loosen the servo control oil expansion tank and set it aside to prevent leakage.

Disconnect the engine wiring harness and set aside.

Unscrew the fixing bolts of the generator - remove the generator

When mounting, mount the components in reverse order.

Tighten the fixing bolts to 25 Nm.

Tighten the wire tab to 8 Nm.

Diesel engines

Disconnect the ground wire on the battery.

Remove the drive belt as described above.

Remove the bottom engine cover.

Remove the wire cover on the generator.

Disconnect the connector on the generator.

Focus with climate control

Remove the air conditioner compressor and set aside.


Unscrew the bolts (arrow) from the belt pulley holder.



Remove the alternator coupling (arrows) - 3 bolts.



Loosen the alternator mounting bolts (arrows) - dismantle the generator.



When mounting, mount the components in reverse order.

Tighten the fixing bolts to 25 Nm - alternator coupling to 12 Nm.
