Removing the fuel pump (petrol engine)

Disconnect the battery ground wire.

Drain the fuel from the fuel tank and dismantle under the vehicle.

Dismantle the fuel supply and return lines, as well as connections to the power source on the fuel pump.

special tool (Ford 23055) or using a punch and hammer, carefully loosen and unscrew the retaining ring.

Remove the fuel pump. To do this, turn the pump counterclockwise and remove it from the fuel tank. Handle the float and float lever carefully when doing this.

When installing a new pump, be sure to place a new O-ring under the circlip.

Installation



Be sure to line up the markings on the fuel tank and on the fuel pump.

Thoroughly clean all sealing surfaces before installing the pump. Tighten the circlip to approx. 80 Nm.

Complete installation in reverse order.

Connect the battery and start the pump for about 30 seconds using the ignition. Approximately this is the time it takes to raise the fuel pressure in the system.

Check pipe connections for tightness.
