Checking the speed sensor with a multimeter

By measuring resistance with a multimeter (see also chapter «Vehicle electrical equipment») you check the functioning of the speed sensor. To be sure that the distance of the sensor to the flywheel is correct, check before measuring. whether the speed sensor is securely screwed on.

For electrical control, disconnect the connector on the speed sensor.

Measure the resistance across both pins of the connector.

The multimeter should show approximately 200±50 watts.
