Checking the transmission oil level

            0

The 4F27E automatic transmission, like a manual transmission, is filled with durable oil at the factory. However, after operation in extreme conditions, such as when driving with a trailer or in the mountains, a small amount of oil consumption may occur. Therefore, after such trips, check the oil level - but no later than after 45,000 km of run. To do this, your Focus has a transmission oil dipstick located between the engine and gearbox (on the left in the direction of travel).

Stages of work

Warm up the engine, put the car on a level surface and apply the handbrake.

Start the engine at idle.

With the engine running, move the selector lever slowly through all gears.

Press the selector lever to position «R».

Remove the dipstick to measure the oil level and read the reading. The difference between MIN and MAX is approximately 0.4 liters.

Add the missing amount through the dipstick hole. Turn off the engine first. Important: Use only original oil.

Carry out the measurement with the engine running: the difference between MIN and MAX is 0.4 liters
