Center rear seat belt retractor

Withdrawal

1. Disconnect the lower element of fastening of the central seat belt.

NOTE: The seat belt anchor is supplied with new seat belts and is not unique to Focus vehicles. Do not use any other mounting methods.

Before removing the seat cover and seat pad, install the seat belt webbing retainer.



3. Disassemble the back of the rear seat. See Section 501-10 for more information.

4. Open the rear seat back latch.



5. Disconnect the retract lock cable.



6. Remove the center rear seat belt retractor.

Installation

WARNING: Before fully assembling the rear seatback, check the operation of the seat belt retractor, cable routing, and latch operation.

To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
