Brake drum — removal and installation

Withdrawal

CAUTION: The brake drum removal provided in this procedure is intended to gain access to the brake system components, not to install a new brake drum.

NOTE: To install a new brake drum, refer to Chap. «wheel hub», provided in section 204-02.

1. Release the parking brake.

2. Remove the wheel. See Section 204-04 for more information.

Vehicles with anti-lock brakes

3. Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor.



All cars

4. Remove the brake drum assembly with the wheel axle.

Installation

1. When installing, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
