Withdrawal

1. Remove the inner CV joint cover. For more information, refer to the Removing and Installing the CV Joint Boot in this section.

CAUTION: Use vise with jaw guards.

Remove a cover of the external hinge of constant angular speeds.

• Remove the cover clamps.
• Slide the cover inward along the front drive shaft.

Installation

1.

CAUTION: Do not pack more than 120 g of grease into the constant velocity joint.

Fill the CV joint with grease.

2. Establish a cover of the external hinge of constant angular speeds.

• Slide the outer boot outward over the CV joint.
• Insert a small screwdriver under the lip of the protective cover to release the air.
• Place the cover in the desired position and remove the screwdriver.
• Tighten the clamps to 21 Nm.

NOTE: Replace boot clip.

Install the boot inner clip using the special tool.

NOTE: Replace boot clip.

Install the outer boot clamp using the special tool.



5. Establish a cover of the internal hinge of constant angular speeds. For more information, refer to the Removing and Installing the CV Joint Boot in this section.
