Withdrawal
1. Remove the accessory drive belt. See Section 303-05 for more information.
2. Disconnect the fender mudguard from the front bumper cover to gain access to the lower right headlight mounting bolt.
3. Turn out the bottom bolt of fastening of the right headlight.
4. Using the special tool, disconnect the line from the power steering fluid cooler.
- Insert the special tool into the spring lock sleeve.
- Run the special tool along the pipeline to release the locking tabs.
- Let the liquid drain into a suitable container.
5. Using the special tool, disconnect the line from the power steering pump.
- Let the liquid drain into a suitable container.
- Discard the O-ring as it is no longer needed.
6. Turn out the bottom bolts of fastening of the pump of the amplifier of a steering.
7. Lower the car.
8. Remove the grille.
9. Remove the right headlight assembly. Disconnect the plug connector.
10. Disconnect the power steering hose from the power steering pump. Let the liquid drain into a suitable container.
11. Release the power steering line from the clamp on the engine and position it to the side.
12. Remove the power steering pump.
Installation
1.
NOTE: If installing a new power steering pump, the nipples included with the new pump should be removed and stored for later use.
Using the special tool, install a new O-ring on the power steering pump to power steering pipe connection nipple.
- 1.Press the O-ring to install it on the special tool.
- 2.Install the special tool on the nipple and install the O-ring in the required position.
2. Replace the elements in reverse order.
3. Add working fluid to the power steering system and bleed air from the system. See Section 211-00 for more information.
