Battery wires (1.6L Duratec) — removal and installation

Withdrawal

1. Remove the battery cover.

• 1. Release the battery cover.
• 2. Detach the battery cover from the battery shelf.

2. Disconnect a wire of weight from the accumulator.

• 1. Disconnect auxiliary ground wires.
• 2. Disconnect the battery ground wire from the battery.

3. Disconnect the battery power cable.

• 1. Disconnect auxiliary power wires.
• 2. Disconnect the battery power cable from the battery.

4. Disconnect the battery wires from the battery shelf.




5. Disconnect the starter solenoid harness from the battery shelf.



6. Disconnect the battery wires from the battery shelf.



7. Disconnect the ground wire from the battery (air filter shown removed for clarity).



8. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for more information.


9. Disconnect the starter solenoid harness from the battery shelf.



10. Disconnect a wire of weight from the accumulator.



11. Disconnect the starter connector.



12. Disunite electric sockets of the generator.



13. Remove the battery wires.

Installation

1. To install, follow the removal procedure in reverse order.
