Air conditioning compressor — removal and installation

Withdrawal

1. Drain the refrigerant from the air conditioning system. Refer to Section 412-00 for more information.

2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Section 100-02 for more information.

3. Disconnect the engine protection (in the presence of).



4. Remove the accessory drive belt cover (in the presence of).



5. Remove the accessory drive belt from the accessory drive belt tensioner.



6. Disconnect the A/C compressor clutch connector.

CAUTION: Plug off refrigerant lines and A/C compressor to prevent contamination.

Disconnect the refrigerant lines from the A/C compressor.

• Discard O-rings as they are no longer needed.

8. Remove the air conditioning compressor.

Installation

NOTE: Install new O-rings on the refrigerant lines.

NOTE: Apply clean refrigerant oil to the O-rings on the refrigerant lines before installation.

Install the elements in place, working in reverse order.
