Withdrawal
All cars
1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Section 303-05 for more information.
2. Disconnect the air conditioning compressor clutch connector (A/C).
CAUTION: Before removing the bolts, support and secure the A/C compressor to prevent stress from being applied to the refrigerant lines.
3. Detach the A/C compressor from the support bracket.
Vehicles with 1.6L engine
CAUTION: Before removing the bolts, support and secure the A/C compressor to prevent stress from being applied to the refrigerant lines.
4. Detach the A/C compressor from the support bracket.
All cars
5. Remove the A/C compressor drive disk.
6. Remove the A/C compressor pulley. Remove shims.

NOTE: Mark the position of the A/C compressor clutch connector in relation to the compressor housing.
Using an appropriate two-point puller, remove the clutch solenoid.
Installation
All cars
NOTE: Do not deform the clutch solenoid by placing it on the A/C compressor bearing surface.
1. Using a suitable M6 x 30mm bolt, suitable washer and A/C compressor drive plate, install the clutch solenoid.
2. Remove the M6 x 30mm bolt, washer and A/C compressor drive plate.
- Install shims.

NOTE: Install a new A/C compressor pulley circlip.
Install the A/C compressor pulley. Install retaining ring.
4. Install the A/C compressor drive disk.
5. Check the A/C clutch air gap. Refer to Section 412-00 for more information.
Vehicles with 1.6L engine
6. Connect the A/C compressor to the appropriate bracket.
All cars
7. Connect the A/C compressor to the appropriate bracket.
8. Connect the A/C compressor clutch connector.
9. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Section 303-05 for more information.
