Inspection and verification
1. Check the customer's complaint.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of electrical damage.
Visual Inspection Table
Electrical factors:
- Fuse (And)
- Relay
- Wiring harness
- electrical connector (s)
- Sensor (And) parking assistance systems
- Parking assistance display and speaker
- Reversing light switch
- Parking assistance module
- Safety insert for parking aid module
3. If an obvious cause of a problem that you identified or described by the customer is found, eliminate it before proceeding with further actions (if it is possible).
4. If the cause is not visually obvious, refer to the Parking Assist Module Reinstallation Procedure.
Parking Assist Module Reinstallation Procedure
1. Turn the ignition key to position 0.
2. Detach the safety insert of the parking aid module.
3. Turn the ignition key to position II.
4. Select reverse gear, then deselect reverse gear.
5. Turn the ignition key to position 0.
6. Connect the safety plug of the parking aid module.
7. Check the correct operation of the system. If the problem persists, refer to the self-diagnosis mode.
Self-diagnosis mode
1. To enter the parking aid module self-test mode, turn the ignition key to position 0, remove the parking aid module safety plug, and make sure the gear is in neutral.
2. Make sure there are no obstacles within 2 meters of the rear of the vehicle.
3. Turn the ignition key to position II and select reverse gear.
4. The self-diagnostic mode is indicated by an audible signal from the parking aid module speaker for three seconds with a pause of one second.
5. If a fault is detected in the parking aid sensor, the parking aid module indicates this by a sequence of beeps from the parking aid speaker.
6. If a malfunction is detected in several sensors of the parking assistance system, after the first sequence, a second sequence is issued.
7. To exit the self-diagnostic mode, select the neutral position, turn the ignition key to position 0 and install the safety insert of the parking aid module.
